ADHD

The more you understand ADHD- the more you realize it is one of the BEST things about you, even with the hard stuff!

You might notice that you always do things in a different order or different timing than others.

Many people have been diagnosed with ADHD and do not fully understand it. You will read a lot about the typical symptoms and what it looks like to have ADHD. Many of these are not completely accurate and too rigid.

I have ADHD myself.

In the last 5 years, I have come to understand, research and develop trainings about this diagnosis and the complexities of ADHD.

I work to help you understand how your brain functions with ADHD and the 3 different types of ADHD.

I will help you build executive functioning skills to improve job/school performance. I help you gain an understanding about emotional regulation and ways to increase tolerance of emotions that are labeled as "too much" or "too sensitive".

I help you understand how rejection impacts social understanding and the relationships in your life.

I also want to empower the strengths of having ADHD. There is a lot of new information, studies, and research coming out about ADHD.

Low self worth and the reality of knowing you impact people around you is A LOT! You are constantly commented on or given a look that says "you are different or wrong." You probably run into judgement, comments, embarrassment or someone fixing you by telling you how you feel or think or how you should do it.

If you do share your emotions- either by overexplaining or being quiet while trying to form the words to say- you are dismissed, talked over, misunderstood or told to fix it.

Lots of people with ADHD actually really like who they are, but get misunderstood.

Some people feel very lonely and hopeless at times.

Other times you just want to do things on your own and do things the way you want to do them because your brain has a different idea of what is important.

There is more HOPE then you know and having ADHD is pretty amazing once you understand all of it.
